Oblivion is now old

As I looked at the Oblivion mods in the Nexusmods I noticed how empty the Elder scrolls: Oblivion mod page was.
Quite naturally, the older game gets less attention. At this given time it's quite clear, that it is not worthwhile to spend time modding Oblivion anymore. I am sure the replayability of that game has been drained at this point, and since no new big mods are being released...nothing is going to change that.

It is only sensible to look at Skyrim at this point for the Elder scroll gameplay need. As far as Skyrim goes, it's modding community is very much alive and bigger in numbers. I saw some very great quest, land, overhaul, graphic overhaul mods. No doubt, they are perfect for people who love to mod the game.

The big thing to remember is:

Newer games provide more gameplay mechanics that can be modded. That is why a musket mod works quite good in skyrim, but sadly looks very odd in oblivion (check the video below)

Like with most games, we have to accept games get abandoned, like many mmo/mmorpg lobbies of the good classic games.

All I can hope for is a new Elder Scrolls that would take us back into the atmosphere as Oblivion once did.
