Steam: trading cards for profit

I would love to share with you, my blog viewers, a little trade profit I managed to make on steam by buying and selling steam game cards and opening booster packs

You get to see various prices for cards, sets and most importantly

The profit meter: "Booster", which tells you the profit you get for opening a booster pack. 2 cards equal (in most cases) the sum you paid in getting the pack, so the 3rd card is pure profit


Let me show you what I did

1. Got myself Revolution ace for a real bargain

2. Crafted a badge, got a booster pack (for the first time, pure random luck)

3. Bought another booster pack for 0.15 cents

4. Unpacked it to get 6 cards, that happen to be about 54 cents all in all, but I would say ~40 because you pay 2 cents for selling em on the market again.

5. By selling the cards again I can definitely say I won 2 cards, about 14(+3) cents or so just by trading (not counting the 30 cents for crafting a badge)

And that is just the beginning

There isn't a huge profit in this, but I cannot say I am not glad to get several cents just by buying and selling

Sadly, the revolution ace cards sellers seem to have balanced the prices, so there isn't a lot of room to profit.

But, it is still valuable information to have.

Who knows what cards might become really valuable in the coming future, so keep an eye out









There is one more thing: Booster pack creation.
 GEMS

Since gems have been introduced there is no limit on how many booster packs are available for the market, since everyone can just craft them.

0.62 cents will get you this.


Depending on the game (I put that in caps for a reason), you can craft yourself a booster pack of a game you own.

And this is a good potential to find yourself a hidden gold mine.

If you manage to get yourself a sack of gems (either buying on the market, or *crafting it yourself*) you can spend those gems on crafting a booster pack, which might have cards in them, that cost more than the gems you spend money on, so you make cash

*Crafting it yourself* as far as I have checked, it's better to buy a sack of gems, since you will pay 0.70 for 1000 gems

IF SOMEWHERE there is an item, that gives you a bigger sum of gems in proportions to the medicon, you might want to buy all the stock, craft sack of gems and sell them or make booster packs idk, it's up to you.

Check for games on sale that are quite cheap and have steam cards
Compare prices on cards, booster packs and look for a chance to find a profitable win

When you use the link above to check the average card price PLEASE keep in mind cards might vary in value very steeply. Keep in mind that you might open a pack that has 2-3 of the cheapest cards and compare the cheapest price with the booster pack price. Keep in mind this risk

Opening a booster pack has a chance of giving you a Foil card, which usually is around 10 times the price of a regular card. Just keep that in mind.
