Improved channel name

Hello everyone!

Yesterday, after putting in some thought into this matter, I decided to change my youtube channel into a more relevant name. The old, no sense making Kaimas7 was finally changed to BethesdaFan1

I think it's a good improvement since it delivers a clear message to the youtube users and should make the search for my channel a bit easier, I hope.
As far as I have checked both my usernames still give my channel as a search result, so that should help anyone who is not familiar with my new channel name...

I am really glad I could fix the mistake I made many, many years ago by naming my channel a random word. I always had the desire to change it, but at that time it was not possible. I stuck with this channel even through the name that made no sense and still managed to attract my loveable subscribers and get great numbers of views.
I will make sure this channel stays as active and even more popular than before, and I thank every fan for being a part of the youtube channel and the blog.

Have a wonderful day and...till next time!

Turning Fallout New vegas into a brutal, realistic combat challenge

New Vegas is a very popular game in the Fallout series. I have done some reviews, tutorials and videos about it. Although it's 4 years old now, it still has many players who enjoy it.

There are. however some complains about the game being too easy and the enemies are pretty mundane and boring. I am here to guide you how to fix that. We will need some mods:

Jsawyear
The first one is made by a official developer of the game. The mod is considered to be a great fix for the game and it even makes combat harder somehow
http://www.moddb.com/games/fallout-new-vegas/addons/jsawyer-mod

Next:
This beast mod changes everything. I just started using it and it alone makes the wasteland a brutal slaughterfest.
Monster Mod.
Adds tons of new monster to the game. Check the screens and the video below. The enemies are definitely difficult!
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/41361/?
 Here are some screens:
This comedic video below shows me in a combat situation. Showcases all the mod recommendations I am giving right now, including the monster mod
::

(Notice the health bar of the screenshot the mob! It spawned in the cave near Goodsprings!)
Aesthetic changes:

Increased Weapon Jamming.
This adds weapon jamming to guns in bad condition. Adds realism to dangerous combat situations.

http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/45003/?

Realistic Reloading.
Doesn't allow you to recover your bullets instanly when emptying a cartridge or magazine adding even more real life combat realism. To recover the bullets you need to find an ammo bench.
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/48242/?

Realistic Bullet Speed New Vegas.
Supposed to mimic bullet physics to be just like in real life.
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/47841/?

CaliberX.
Adds all kinds of cool weapon ammunition name changes to the real life ones.
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39981/?

Enchanced blood textures
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34917/?

The textures of the blood can be seen in the screen next to you and in the video

Improved Sound FX and distant gunfire sound fix
Fixes an annoying gun sound bug and replaces gun sounds of the vanilla guns to realistic ones. A must have! (The mods are supposedly conflicting with each other when in use, but I haven't noticed a problem)
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35293/? and http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35331/?

JIP Realistic Weapon Overhaul (requires MCM)
All the mods above don't even require NVSE to my knowledge ( script extender), but with this mod you will need it. If you are new to modding then maybe pass on to the next mod. Otherwise, adds heat to a gun that is being fired too fast just like in real life.
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49892/?

More shells
Shells stay for a bit longer, shows you how intense the battle was.
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34956/?

Recommended:
Weapon mod extension WMX
A glorious mod that extends the vanilla gun modding. Definitely a nice mod
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39651/?

Weapon retexturing project.
A stunning mod that retextures the boring vanilla guns to have nicer textures. If used with WMX, add a compatibility patch that is included in the download selection.
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/38285/?

And some last points to make sure the combat stays heart pounding and nerve wreaking:::

Set the difficulty to very hard.
Don't mod overpowered weapons into the game
For an even extra boost ridiculous boost, take away S.P.E.C.I.A.L endurance points early in the game, but this is definitely overkill
Survive!
And have fun. Thanks for reading.

Pcsx 2 and your pc hardware

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to improve my pc by replacing my old video card the Geforce 9600gt with the several times more powerful Geforce 660.

Naturally, as a fan of ps2 games, I wanted to emulate a game called Vice city stories. If you read my blog already, you would know that open world games very often cause an fps drop when emulating, since it is difficult to handle them for your pc. The reason for this is: the emulator is still in development and not 100% complete. But I gotta say, the emulation itself is very nice, graphical bugs are non existent in the current version (comparing it to the old versions that I had used before, even emulating this game).

Here are my results with the new graphics card:

The fps drops have not changed.

As it turns out the emulator takes almost all power from the CPU.

If you upgrade that, then you will truly see a difference.

For now the performance is based on CPU>GPU

The developers are trying to change it to GPU>CPU, but it might take years for it to happen.

Pc games that I own, however have shown great improvements.

This is a quick notice to ps2, (pcsx2) fans. I hope this information is valuable to your own experience.

Lineage 2 vs Rift. My review.

I played Lineage 2 since the chronicle 1.
My pc was so bad it couldn't even run the game. Today, I look back at those early days of my gaming life.

By finding more time this summer I stood between these choices:

Force myself to play an old chronicles, although I was never really that good at the game anyway or try a new mmorpg.

I am glad I chose the right patch.
On the 21st of July I started my adventure into Rift.

I feel though as it is my responsibility to compare both games and help those who lived in the world of Lineage 2 for a long time and are searching for something equal good.

What can I say, Rift delivers.

I won't even talk about every feature this game has to offer, I just want to shine some light on some core elements that make this mmorpg so good.

Endless activities: quests that are actually fun, rewarding and not too easy, yet no too grindy. A feature that was a big lack in Lineage 2. Now I know. Perhaps Wow has a better quest system, I just can't say.
Housing- taken from WoW, was copied by Runes of magic, a game I also think is weak compared to this. Lootable objects, visitation, big spaces to work with and a lot of creativity plus hard work.
That alone is very comfortable as it relieves you from tiring battles
A big variety of customization (mainly after creating your character). Possible, unlike Lineage 2, affordable, unlike Runes of magic.

The armor and weapon changes show off your hard work in the game.

Clan, raid, dungeon finder.
A feature that annihilates many mmorpgs that I played before.
Like I said, I never got my hands on WoW, but Rift has something that neither L2, RoM, Runescape, or Silkroad or any game before offer:

a amazing way to find clans, groups of people just to have fun

I was never a big social man. I did advertise myself in online games, many times I played without even belonging to a guild. Rifts system offered me a guild on the first several hours of the game.
Partly, because people are more cooperative and social. But this might depend on many factors.

The combat itself is good. I play mainly as a rogue archer, and I have the time of my life. No stupid dealing with the amount of arrows you have, the skill tree is open to many changes and leaves all the previous mentioned mmorpgs in the dust. You choose your skills, you work on your stats and can even craft almost all items you need. No longer is crafting limited to the dwarfs, which is fantastic.

And the best part: it's free

Perhaps one of the negative points I can see with this game is the fact, that it has p2w elements.
The shops allows people willing to spend money mounts, certain abilities and changes that you can't normally partake, but honestly, the f2p players get all the same content a paying player has. The paying people are just getting shortcuts.

This is tolerable since the developers need to make money some way to ensure future updates.

But this is not supposed to be a rant on Lineage. As a matter of fact, even the great improvement I have felt in Rift, there is one thing Rift could not beat Lineage. The art of style, the soundtrack mainly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqkm8IKG3CQ

This is one element of Lineage 2, that I have not seen better in the other mmorpgs out there. I guess that is why it is difficulty looking back at it.

But honestly, many of you saw the new Ertheia chronicle. They are spinning from the original game faster than ever before. Even if it is f2p now, the true people searching for the classical L2 will need to go to a private server eventually.

The features that Rift offers persuaded me to take it up instead of Lineage or any other mmorpg.
I am not saying that Rift is the best game out there, but I would say it's perhaps the best in the f2p market.
From the reviews I read, Gw2 is supposed to be better in many aspects. I can't agree or disagree on this statement, I just wanna tell you that:

I am glad I got to experience L2 and now Rift. The single player games on my pc were not giving me the satisfaction I searched for. Now, I am actively playing and enjoying raids, pvp, pve, crafting, fishing and spending time with my faction. I recommend you to do the same.

My mod review: Run the lucky 38

If you play Fallout new vegas long enough you will be eventually dissapointed by having the fact that you have so much caps in your inventory and you don't even know where you could spend them all.

Thankfully, the modder PaladinRider took it upon himself to change a big aspect of the game. The questionably empty lucky 38 casino can now be modded to work again. And you, the courier, are the owner and manager

After playing the mod in extensive detail I am glad to say that this mod is one of the most detailed and good implemented mods out there.

Now let me give a list of pros and cons you might want to know about before installing the mod

Pros:
1. Very immersive, in fact, this mod is more immersive then the actual vanilla gameplay of lucky 38.
Let me give you a quick history lesson. Mr. House, the dad of the strip used guns to shoot the falling nuclear bombs to protect his strip from the damage. And you want to actually tell me after all his effort he doesn't bother to keep his casino running?? 3 other casinos are working fine! Why not this?
The developers just got lazy, but this mod fix this. This was number one

 2. Hire workers to keep your casino going.
Blackjack, roulette, slots can be played by you- the owner and guests are simulated by npc's

3. Quests! 4-5 lengthy quests that give you that feeling that you actually earn the casino

4. New locations outside of the casino itself

 5. A BIG amount of new rooms in the casino. The elevator isn't just your typical portal to your suite. You've got a bank, a kitchen, a hotel, a pool a rooftop a botanics garden armory and much much more!

6. You buy what you want. The rooms mentioned above are not given to you instantly. You buy them to be built. And the services they offer determine how much cash you make. If you make the wrong moves you fall into minus which means you must build something else to increase the income again.

7. The new services cost a LOT to buy. If you had caps that started catching dust a long time ago will now be used for improvements. One armory cost me up to 80k caps!

8. Npc's have dialogue. The visitors express their feeling towards the casino. I wonder how Paladinrider did that.

9. Compatible with open strip. It would make no sense if you had to remove open strip for this mod. Thankfully, you don't.

10. This mod gives you many hours of gameplay. Even if you are a millionaire the quests themselves give you a lot of challenges. You won't be able to see all this mod has to offer in one day, trust me. If you are playing on the hardest difficulty and you don't even have a lot of caps, then this mod will feel like the main quest in a way.

11. The casino undergoes changes as you buy new services. The new rooms are enterable, nothing is hidden from your eye.

12. A lot of storage space for your guns, money and armor

13. Adds several vendors, some of them need to be restocked.

14. After investing thousands of caps, the casino will repay you in profit. At the end you will get a steady income which is fantastic for many roleplayers.

15. New clothes, beverages, and I think 1 gun.

Cons:

1. The npc's aren't voiced, but let's be real- the modder wasn't funded to do this. It's silly to expect something like that from modders, especially since there are so many new npc's added in this mod.

2. The main lobby takes a toll on your computer. If it isn't powerful, you will feel a drop of framerate. This however is to be expected with any big mod.

3. Some rooms seem empty. This applies only to the rooms you are not expected to enter, the main services are still great.

And this is really all about it. The mod is great, you would think that the modder was a part of the original developer crew because this mod runs flawless even by all this new content. I can't imagine how much work was put into this, but I am sure that this mod is for everyone who was baffled by the lucky 38 casino being empty and dissapointed by not being able to spend all the collected caps.

I give this a 10/10, there is no doubt about that.

Steam summer sale- free steam cash grab! It's over! Let's overview what happened

June 19-30 was the famous time for the pc game market sellout!

And there were a lot of ways to make money!
Requirements:
Steam client, level 8

(Extra requirements)
At least 1 game that supports steam trading cards
Time

These cards you see are valuable, and I mean REAL valuable,

30 euro cents a cards at the moment
14 cents
10 cents
The market changed fast!

The main point of this sale was the
team battle. 5 teams. The members of the teams were able to get free games.

People who contributed by crafting game badges or voting got cards that were quite valuable at times.

Selling cards was a fantastic way to make money for more games.

This was also the perfect time to craft game badges as you got some money for the expenses.

This was the perfect time to craft badges and increase your steam level!
Remember- bigger steam level- more chance to get booster packs!

The price were fluctuating. Understandable, since cards were given out by voting and many sold their cards off at low prices.

The golden list of things to remember for the next sale, which is the winter sale 2014
1. Just by joining a team you get a steam level
 2. If cards will be given out like this time the prices are bound to crash
3. Buying low and selling high made many users very rich!
4. Don't craft summer adventure badges except if the cards are worth less then you can handle
5. Hoping for a free game giveaway is madness. You are more likely to get a game by selling the cards
6. The team battle was manipulated by members of the gaming community. Only at the end of the summer sale, the balance was restored by allowing the first 3 victor teams free games (60 players a day overall)
7. Wait for the flash sales. Be always patient for a good price.
8. If you have friends who aren't interested in this summer sale. Ask them for the cards or work together.

This is the overview of my first steam sale. Honestly, the competition was fun and exciting and I recommend participating if you are a member of steam.
Thank you for your time, I will keep you updated the next steam sale!
